Two months later and I still haven't gotten my money back from the bank that failed to 'spit out' the 400 euros cash at the ATM just prior to last month's Après Midi...but they're working on it, or so they say!
Still, life goes on and so does Après Midi every month like clockwork, except for August when we take a break and next month, when we gather on the 7th instead of the 14th (Bastille Day).
Newcomers today included:
Katherine Hosie who is living in Paris for a couple of years as an international executive and private coach with over six years of experience.
Debra Seretean is a realtor in Boca Raton who visits France 3 to 5 times a year and loves it -- hoping to spend more or live here.
Christine Shepard has a daughter who lives in Versailles with her husband and her two grandchildren and whom she visits 3 or 4 months a year. Like all of us, she is trying to learn French.
Wayne Wasiliew from Vancouver who came with fianceeKaren Henrich of NuitBlancheTours.com and ChicWalks.com
"Oldtimers" included:
Loui Franke who spends the summers here, but hopes to spend more time.
Alice Needham and Bill Sandie, who in the process of getting their bathroom remodeled.
Eve Humrich who moved from London with her husband, where she was a teacher, and is trying to sell her house near Charles de Gaulle so she can buy an apartment in Paris.
Sandra Fuenterosa, an opera singer, voice teacher, translator and writer...happy to be back in Paris again and we were happy she stopped back at Après Midi.
Robert Mandel and Lois Alexander whose time is dwindling down to just a few more weeks.
Gar Westfall from Hawaii is here now, but sadly leaving in just a few days after his two-month stay.
Jack Lampert who just arrived from Florida via a trip to Israel where he acquired a serious tan!
Dale Gaber, a life coach, old friend from New Orleans, resident of the neighborhood and regular visitor to Après Midi.
Marcia Cohen, a lawyer-turned-singer who spends about six months a year here in her rue Daguerre apartment.
And as unusual, Patricia Laplante Collins, of parissoirees.com came late, but came! She's in the process of moving to a new location near Notre Dame. So, stay tuned!
