Lots of newcomers weathered the snowy, cold wintery day to take part in our little exchange of ideas and friendships:
Heather Langley-Evans...who has been coming to Paris since 1969, is here now for 7 months, working on a cookbook and looking to Paris for inspiration and experimenting on recipes. Heather also joins me every Friday evening for Pilates with Annie Vernier, who would have attended had she not mistook the meeting time! We could use another in our Pilates group, so if you're interested, write Annie at lafactrice@yahoo.com
Richard Nahem...friend and backgammon opponent, as well as ex-New Yorker whose insiders guide to Paris, Eye Prefer Paris, has taken off! Richard writes his blog from a fabulous 18th-century apartment overlooking St. Paul and provides newcomers and tourists to Paris a insider look at the City of Light. Learn more at http://eyepreferparis.com/
Robin Katsaros...a one time attendee of a Living and Investing in France Conference (Washington D.C. 2004) and who is now considering selling her apartment in the 7th. It's 98 square meters, two bedrooms with two bathrooms and sleeps 5. If you're interested, email Adrian at Adrian@AdrianLeeds.com
Eileen Maguire...a Dubliner who is new to Paris and living in the suburbs with her husband, amd would like to meet people and stay longer than their two-year current plan!
Liliane Doummar Laffay...a Lebanese native who married a Frenchman and moved to Paris just two years ago. She brought with her a friend who's lived here 20 years, but was too shy to tell us much about herself.
Ross Englisbe...an American who has lived in Paris on and off, now more on than off, as he develops his interior design/furnishings design business "HMD Interiors"/"Hamilton Conte" and manages a small rental apartment on rue de Seine in the 6th district.
Carl Strugnell...son of Stella and Champion chessboxer, chess player and teacher, was brought to Paris 20 years ago by his parents.
Stella Strugnel...mother of Carl and long time friend of Parler Paris, is in the midst of restructuring her life as a teacher, writer and whatever brings home the bacon...
Lynn Jeffress...a new found friend who constructed a paper boat alongside me one Sunday afternoon and with whom we launched them both into the Seine carrying a lit candle and wishes for the new year. Her only goal is to enjoy life here, although she does various events for EyePreferParis.com in her spare time.
Everyone else were old friends, regulars to Après Midi, who are Paris residents, full or part time:
Patricia Laplante Collins, of Paris Soirées a long standing friend of Parler Paris, along with her not so puppy pup, Eve, joined us as always. I will be speaking at her Soirée on Sunday, March 7th about HOW TO SUCCEED AS AN 'ALIEN'IN A FRENCH WORLD!...Join us by emailing Patricia at parissoirees@gmail.com
Delores Lilley, who we are sure to count on if she is in Paris, to attend and visit with friends, came with information about a tango performance this Saturday we may not want to miss!...at the Théâtre de l'Alhambra
Antonio Meza...partner in PSI Communications, photographer and artist, who's purpose in life is to help other people realize their true potential through NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and other techniques of self awareness. Learn more about their workshops and events at http://www.psicommunications.com
Florence Richburg...Executive Assistant to Adrian Leeds, retire Air Force and devotee of Paris...settling into life here, learning French and doing whatever she can to earn her way.
Pam Leavy...journalist and old friend, who's recent illness has not gotten her down and who has thoroughly enjoyed the French health care system -- our hats go off to her.
