They stayed until we had to "throw them out" at 6 p.m. -- the new found friends at Parler Paris Après Midi Tuesday afternoon just didn't want to stop their fun time together.
New comers...
Marilyn Tron has a daughter in school here and a husband left at home to 'mind the store' while she experiences a year here. Now that the year is almost up, she's preparing to find a way to come back and stay more permanently. Let's hope she does!
Kimo Gerald is a longtime visitor, having exchanged his Manhattan apartment for one here. Smart cookie.
Michele Hall, a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker from Beverly Hills/Los Angeles, has traveled to Paris many times and thinks it's THE most exciting city. She is studying French both here and in Los Angeles hoping to become fluent...any year now! Her additional goal is to eventually purchase an apartment and learn more history about Paris, not mention enjoy interesting friends by integrating and learning how to navigate French society!
Mary Ann Saxon, also a real estate agent, is traveling with Michele Hall and feels as if Paris is her second home. She has the sense she's lived here before and comes once a year for one month to get to know the city better. Her dream is to be here six months a year and eventually buy a flat.
I met Celia and Geoff Gibson a few nights ago at Chez Omar and they took me up on the invitation to stop in at Après Midi. This is the stage in their lives when they are traveling -- this being their first time in Paris, having done a home exchange with their South Beach, Miami condo.
Have beens...
Veronique Aptekman says this is "home," a Fra no-American who has now visited us twice, bringing along with her America friends.
Dorothy (Dory) Renn says that last time she came to Après Midi, she wanted to live here permanently. Now that she's been here another month, the desire has only increased and "if the gods allow, I may find a home here."
Julia Robarts number one goal at the moment is to "live in a building 'sans bruit.'" Let's hope she finds it.
Patricia O'Caroll went through great stress to get to Après Midi, but made it luckily just before ending. She enjoys a small apartment here.
Regulars...
Alice Needham and Bill Sandie are back looking for a home loan to make renovation and improvements. They should have good news by this week.
Vincent Menill travels between Paris, New York and Florida, and says there is "nothing to tell at all." I know that isn't true...but he's not telling.
Tom Regan, Louisiana native and part-time resident of Paris, is back and loving his rue Saint-Paul apartment. We have a date Friday night to see Paul Simon in concert...yeah!
Patricia Laplante Collins and her pup, Eve, of Paris Soirées, said that now that we've written that she doesn't miss a single session, she absolutely can't miss one!
Jack Lampert expounded on the cultural differences of the French, his favorite topic, while making lots of new friends as always.
Until next time...September 9th...because keep in mind that in August, we take a break.
