An Election Day Celebration...
I opted for a "Pastis" in celebration of the day...a day that we hoped would make real history. We saw lots of old friends and a few new faces...
The Have Beens and Regulars...
Mary Louise Sillman, brought her beautiful hand made jewelry to sell and Florence Richburg, my personal assistant, quickly scarfed up the big beautiful violet heart.
Gar Westfall, our favorite Hawaiian, has already used up his usual two month stay and is already on his flight headed west to Barack Obama's home state.
Alexandria Levie and Erwin Petri came for a third and last time before they leave the city this time around...but we're sure they will be back.
Peter Weisberg, a regular at Parler Parlor and occasional visitor to Après Midi made friends with the Petris very quickly.
Patricia Laplante Collins and her pup, Eve, of Paris Soirées, never misses a session.
Past Marketing Director, Lynda Sydney, came late and frustrated from her ongoing Internet connection problems in her rental apartment.
Delores Lilley's hair has gotten long since the last time we saw her.
And Dale Gaber was preparing for the all night event with Democrats Abroad.
She brought along old friend Christiane Viethel, who was the only French person to attend yesterday.
Victoria Strong hadn't been to see us in too much time to count -- and meanwhile she's become quite successful as a "pleasure coach" certified by the State of California under the name of DivineFeminineTouch.com She showed off her Barack Obama pendant
Carol Clark was back as she comes to Paris every November for the Paris Photo Fair at the Carrousel du Louvre.
Alan Smid never misses a session if he can help it and met up with us later to enjoy the Nuit Americaine event at the Mairie of the 3rd.
Pamela and Jim Leavy, still happily ensconced in Paris-American life, stopped in as they do from time to time to say hello to old friends.
The Newcomers...
Bea Martin, retired and living in Los Angeles, is visiting Paris for two months although she's been here many times before. She came for the first time and made lots of new friends.
And special welcome to Alice Steinbach, author, journalist, former Pulitzer Prize winner, NPR book reviewer and lover of Paris, came to say hello for the first time...and don't we feel privileged to have such an illustrious gathering of Americans!
