MEETING
OF June 14, 2005
(Photos do not necessarily match descriptions.)
We
had a full house of Parler Paris Après Midi regulars and lots
of Canadians!...
Single men (or at least, let's call them "men on their own") who came for a coffee and a chat included Ronny Rubin, Ralph Lastuka, Jacques Derhy, Eric Tolbert, Robert Larrea and Jack Lampert.
Women
on their own included Dale Gaber, Judy Screiber, Patriicia
Laplante Collins, Alanea Kowalski, Jane
Rosenberg and
Sandra Syms.
Couples we've had the pleasure of welcoming before included Walter and Shirley Pappas and Pamela and Jim Leavy.
Parler Paris and French Property Insider staff members Yolanda Robins (Property Manager), Ellen Jung-Josse (Property Search Consultant) and Lynda Sydney (Assistant) were on hand, of course.
Newcomers
who seemed to thoroughly enjoy the interaction with other anglophones
were...
Tori
Springer who recently finished her Sorbonne studies and is
looking for a job as a fashion agent for photographers, stylists and
make-up artists.
Michael Johnson, a handyman who can do home repairs,
painting, carpentry and electricity.
Janet
Pearson who is a travel writer who came for the Air Show at
Le Bourget.
Sue and Steve Chenette, from Toronto, about to close on the purchase of a Marais apartment that Alanea Kowalski is currently renting! (It's because of Parler Paris Après Midi and French Property Insider that the learned of the apartment!)
Elaine Taylor from Ottawa, visiting me for a few days (we met on a cruise in the Carribean years ago!), for whom this is her first time in Paris and is taking it all in very quickly!
Karen
Crumbliss, already counting down the days till her 9-week stay
in Le Marais is over while her husband has been working at the University
of Paris 7. She is loving every moment.
Elisabeth Montlahuc, "une Française" who wants to meet other Americans and anglophones to practice her English.
Beth Eckenrod, who currently lives on a barge in the Seine and is hoping to get to dry land.
And
Anita Marie Garcia, who came to France to participate
in a painting workshop, but visits at least twice a year and is seriously
interested in relocating here. She works with mentally challenged adults
and brain injured adolecents, plus teaches art to young children.
