MEETING OF September 13, 2005
(Photos do not necessarily match descriptions.)

John
Viescas and his wife Susanne are celebrating
here in paris having just purchased an apartment in the neighborhood
discovered by Yolanda Robins, of French Property Insider
-- four floors up overlooking rue de Bretagne and rue de Turenne, awaiting
the final signing in December and just having received a loan offer
from a local lender!
Tom Regan is a long-time (since 2000) but part-time
Marais resident with an apartment on rue Saint Paul in the 4th arrondissement
retiring here because "Paris is the most beautiful city in the
world." He joins us from time to time at Après Midi and
Parler Parlor.
Susan
Ojanen is apartment sitting for friends while they travel in
the U.S. She owns a business renting homes for the NASCAR races and
is expanding her business to work with rental companies in Europe --
would love to do this in Paris!
Martha
Bills, past conference attendee, is still pursuing her dream
of moving to Paris.
Sitting
w ith her are Andrew Ramsey and Eleanore Ramsey Nadell
from San Francisco, a physician and bookbinding designer who hunt for
rare books, noe-gothic antiques and now, an apartment in Paris.
Robert
Larrea is a regular we can count on to show up with a smiling
face and great conversation.

Bill
Jeffers, who attended the same Working and Living in France
Conference as Yolanda Robins in 2003, came to say hello and brought
with him Debi Oxenford who loves the city and would
like to learn French.
Not pictured was Colleen Geske, Marketing Director for Expatica.com who spends part of her time in Paris and lived once upon a time on my own street!
And also not pictured was Patricia Laplante Collins of Paris Soirées, who attended as always, with her pup, Eve.
Carole
and Don Setser come to France frequently, for work (research
and chemistry) and also, for pleasure -- this time for five weeks.
Not pictured is Dominique Vallila, a native Parisienne who lived in the US for more than 25 years, is happily back since March 2005 and wants to stay in touch with American "openness."
Isabelle
Rocca and Florence Senecal were hamming it
up. Isabelle has an apartment rental business in Paris and Florence
is a regular world traveler.
David
Lam came in with a big smile -- he was so thrilled to be a
part of Après Midi and is yearning to expand his business of
filmmaking from Hollywood to Paris, take root here and become French!
Laura
Savulesco is a real estate broker specializing in Viager properties.
She's accompanied by Linda DeMarco, who is a life and
business coach, working here for two to three months. Her goal is to
have an adventure and complete here practice by working with global
clients. Iain-Kevin Waite, next to her, is a single
guy with no kids, still young and wanting a new challenge, change of
pace and finally to master the French language. He is a personal trainer
currently re-establishing an import/export company.
Margaret
Brownell is looking for an area in Paris to settle in -- looking
at real estate and getting to know the city better, looking for the
Expat community. She found it! Suzanne Viescas, next
to her, just found it...in the heart of the Marais!
Margaret
got into deep conversation with Jacques Derhy, a Frenchman
who returned to Paris after 15 years in Canada and Florida.
Long-time
Après Mid visitors Gar Westfall of Hawaii and
Pamela Leavy, now of Paris, came to say hello to one
and all.
Susan
Genelin, past conference attendee and also currently looking
at property in Paris with Yolanda Robins made fast friends with Martha
Bills.
Not
pictured is Jan Hanson, a photographer with a showing
coming up opening September 19th at WICE, and a Vernissage there on
the 22nd -- beautiful shots of Paris, but of course! Call 01.45.66.75.50
or click on /parlerparis/calendar.html
for complete information. She showed off her beautiful greeting cards
which will be for purchase at WICE. Jan is currently working with Yolanda
Robins and Ellen Jung-Josse of French Property Insider to find an apartment
to purchase in Paris.
