MEETING
OF December 13, 2005
(Photos do not necessarily match descriptions.)
La
Pierre du Marais is under new management and with it came freshly painted
terra-cotta colored walls that created a warmer glow than before --
so evident in the photos I took.
Ronny Rubin proudly displays his Carte de Séjour that took him four years to get with an incredible amount of angst. We all applauded him and he was glowing, too -- with happiness.
Joan
Rogers and Arthur Lemay came to say hello
for a second time. They visit Paris once a year and are thinking of
buying an apartment next year.
French Property Insider's Yolanda Robins and Ellen Jung Josse were among the attendees, getting to know everyone and helping advise them on their property-related questions.
Tom
Regan is still loving his rue St. Paul apartment, chatting
it up with Kathy Borrus, author of a coffee table
tome titled "One Thousand Buildings of Paris." She's
here for the holidays with Noel Klores, a retired attorney
from Washington, DC.
Juan
R Yriart, not pictured, arrived toward the end of the gathering,
but came to Paris to work in artist management and enjoy the city.
Lisa Murray, also having arrived latish and with no photo to show, is married to a Frenchman, moved to France as an athlete (swimming), studied in Lyon last year and is now expecting a baby in March.
Regular, Laura Savulesco, did the same -- we urge you all to come earlier and enjoy meeting everyone!
Dale
Novick Gaber is happily back from New Orleans after three months
of cleaning and repairing her father's badly-damaged home. She says
"it was the worst three months of her life."
Allison
Smith surprised us all once again with her amazing bird calls.
She just received a Belle Skinner Fellowship from Vassar College to
do research for her music doctorate at Northwestern University in oboe
performance and to study baroque oboe. She hopes to be able to work
in France, too, as a musician and will soon renew her Carte de Séjour.
Little did she know I used to play oboe, too!
Linda
Quinet pops in regularly. Today she met newcomer Stephan
Baishanski, a Franco-American who is moving to Europe from
the U.S. indefinitely, is exploring business opportunities in software
development and is looking to settle in Paris or other major European
city.
Patricia
Laplante-Collins, our most faithful attendee, may look suspicious
here, but she had a big smile on her face as she chatted with so many
of her friends. Her pup, Eve, joined us, although she
isn't pictured, and was on particularly good behavior!
Parler
Paris Marketing Director Lynda Sydney shares animated
conversation with regular Delores Lilly over Kir and
wine.
