Janice Fenster was the first to arrive and was the first time for her to attend. She's here a few months every winter to write and is a regular at Parler Parlor, but came to see how Après Midi differs.
She immediately met Sue Chenette, who through our services, owns an apartment on rue des Filles du Calvaire she and her husband, Steve, rent long term, furnished. Sue is a poet who will be reading her work along with Moe Seager and Nina Zivancevic March 18th at 8 p.m. at The Highlander (8 rue de Nevers, 6th).
Paul and Paris Tannish, were back again. Paris has an Ebay antique business and Paul is a teacher of music. Alan Smid is one of our most loyal attendees -- always with a smile on his face.
Carolyn Johnson was back, too. We know Carolyn through Susan Herrmann Loomis, the chef and author, with whom she worked for quite a while.
Daniel Eaton, who mother was French and who lived in Paris for over 20years, came along with Doreen Broderick, here in Paris to celebrate her birthday and love for the city, plus to "get her hair done as only they can do it here!"
Stopping in early this time, without her best friend, Eve (black Labrador), was Patricia Laplante Collins of Paris Soirées.
And before we all said our "au revoirs," Aussie Julia Robarts (not Roberts!) came upstairs after hearing all the noisy English spoken from the café downstairs and wouldn't let us take her photo as she was unprepared for stardom. She says he's here for "romance, love the cultural clichés and a Frenchman!"
