From
the quiet, residential rue Saint-Sébastien, walk up a mere
dozen steps into this beautiful, newly renovated one-bedroom apartment.
No effort has been spared to create a sophisticated, comfortable
environment that provides you with all the modern conveniences,
and the opportunity to experience romantic Paris to the fullest,
whether as first time tourists, or as seasoned visitors who prefer
to live like Parisians. Le Déco’s stylish interior
combines contemporary design with Art Deco flourishes, while retaining
elements of its 19th-century French heritage in its original wood
beamed ceiling and marble fireplace. Its three large French windows
with wrought iron railings provide a pleasant view of the rue
Saint-Sébastien neighborhood.
The living room features Art Deco decor, including a large elegant
mirror adorning the fireplace, custom drapery, de Lempicka artwork,
and mirrored tables. The very comfortable high-quality sofa converts
to a cozy double bed if needed. A writing desk equipped with wireless
high-speed Internet access and plush armchair are provided for
reading, leisure and/or working.
The bedroom is a marvel of comfort, taste, and convenience. Custom
wood and frosted glass sliding doors allow the bedroom to be isolated
for total privacy, or to be seamlessly joined to the dining and
living room areas to create a single “en suite” living
space. The luxurious queen-size bed can be divided into twin beds,
if preferred. A spacious mirrored closet, and marble top antique
Art Deco night tables and designer lamps provide elegant accents.
Illumination from the unique wall sconces can be adjusted for
the perfect ambiance. A flat-screen LCD TV and DVD player on a
swivel mount allow movie and television viewing from the bed in
total comfort.
The dining area features a stunning crystal globe chandelier and
comfortable, chic barstools that will enhance any dining occasion.
A handsome birch counter has been customized for maximum storage,
with a top that cleverly expands to form a generous surface for
work, dining or entertaining.
The modern kitchen is as dramatic as it is functional, with sleek
red cabinetry, a lovingly restored original 19th century cabinet
door, and black granite countertop. For those who are inspired
to cook like a French chef, prefer to brew their morning coffee
or afternoon tea, or simply enjoy fare from the numerous nearby
boulangeries, charcuteries, and patisseries, this fully equipped
gourmet kitchen, seamlessly integrated with the dining area, affords
ultimate convenience. State-of-the-art appliances include a four-burner
electric (glass ceramic) stovetop with touch controls, exhaust
hood, oven, dishwasher, roomy refrigerator, freezer, and microwave
oven. Strategically placed under-cabinet lighting, as well as
a double basin, facilitate food preparation. Everything that the
experienced cook could desire is within easy reach from an extensive
collection of fine cookware tools, pots and pans, bakeware, cutlery,
serving pieces, and cutting boards. For gracious dining, place
mats and cloth napkins, plus a full service of flatware, dinnerware,
glassware and stemware are provided.
The well-appointed bathroom includes a spacious curved glass walk-in
shower, a high-fashion suspended Burg sink, separate vanity, a
natural stone non-slip floor, toilet, and heated chrome towel
rack.
Le Déco is creatively designed for optimal storage of clothes
and other personal items. An entryway closet holds coats and umbrellas,
and in the bedroom, a large closet and wall-mounted cabinets keep
clothes neatly out of sight and ready to wear. And, for securing
over-sized luggage and the numerous “finds” that only
shopping in Paris can offer, directly across the hall is a private,
locked storage room solely for the use of our guests. This extra
room also features a washer and a dryer to help minimize the amount
of clothes one needs to bring.
Le Déco comfortably accommodates up to four guests. With
its tasteful decor, ultramodern amenities and its convenient location,
Le Deco is the perfect home away from home in the City of Light.
The
Area Around Rue Saint-Sébastien
Located in Central Paris, Le Déco is only a short walk
from many historic parks, monuments and museums. The historic
Place des Vosges, the oldest (1612) square in Paris, is regarded
as one of the most beautiful squares in the world. The Bastille
was torn down long ago, but today the Place de la Bastille holds
the Colonne de Juillet and the Opera National de Paris Bastille,
with its ultra-modern glass architecture. Cirque d’Hiver,
or “Winter Circus,” has a venue of year-round attractions
including concerts and fashion shows. Two important museums are
also nearby: The Musée Picasso, showcasing the full range
of the artist’s work, and the Musée Carnavalet, devoted
to the history of Paris.
Rue Saint-Sébastien is in a virtually tourist-free neighborhood
with restaurants, cafes, shops, patisseries, and groceries, a
“stone’s throw” from the fashionable Marais
District. In the other direction, Boulevard Richard Lenoir is
just 5 minutes away with its famous street market, the largest
in Paris, featuring a wide variety of foods, including cheeses,
fresh produce and meat, as well as art and crafts.
Transportation:
Le Déco is within very short walking distance to two nearby
Metro stations, from which all of Paris can be reached quickly
and easily. A mere 150 meters (500 feet) takes you to Metro station
St. Sébastien-Froissart (Line #8) and 350 meters (1200

Nabra
and I had a wonderful stay at Le Deco. It was just the romantic
and private accommodation that let us feel more like Parisians
than tourists. The kitchen was complete and we spent lazy mornings
with coffee and fresh bread and evenings with wine and cheese.
The nearby MERCI is one of the most unique retail venues anywhere.
Rue Saint-Sebastian is both well located, convenient, and quiet.
All in all we had a great time.

We
enjoyed our stay at Le Deco. it is a good sized little apartment
and in a good location. Excellent for transport links via the
Métro etc. The apartment was well equiped, with everything
you could need.

"You
really have done a great job on the decoration of the apartment.
Thank you for a very personable staff and very clean transition
of arrival and departure. The bed was very comfortable and the
linens were of good quality. There was plenty of storage space
to put away all clothing etc. while staying away from home. We
had never stayed in the Marais area before and although Le Deco
isn't actually considered in the Marais, it was such a short distance
to 'everything Marais' especially the shopping, we found it quite
convenient. Your staff are most friendly and helpful. They make
it a very easy transition into a foreign area."

"I
know this is a rented apartment, but I honestly feel like its
my Parisian home! This has been my second stay in less than a
year and again, I couldn't be more happy with it. The location
is perfect: so close to everything and yet nowhere near the crowds
of tourists and bustling traffic. In fact, I hardly ever saw tourists!
Just locals going about their daily Parisian lives. The "Italian
Cafe" on the corner of Rue Amelot is just bursting with character
and I have really enjoyed stopping in there for my "café
crème" and some serious people-watching. The apartment
is everything I could want and more. The renovation is what I
would choose for my own home: everything is clean, and luxurious.
I have really enjoyed having a kitchen (I whipped up my famous
eggplant pasta dish with some gorgeous eggplants I found at the
market) and having a washing machine/dryer has been great. My
one recommendation is to add the name of the tiny boulangerie
on Rue Beaumarchais (the little blue one, on the corner of a nearby
cross-street) to the list of nearby facilities, as the one further
up on Rue Saint-Sébastien isn't one of the best. Thank
you again for fantastic, personal service. Its been so easy."

"I've
been thoroughly enjoying my stay in Le Deco this month, and now
think of it as "home"...so very well equipped and comfortable.
I've taken photos of the flat and sent them to all my family and
friends - and they all want to stay here too!"
