with Moneycorp

When you're buying a holiday home or investment property overseas, trading your currency can be a crucial cost factor. The euro exchange rate is constantly fluctuating, so trading at the right time will mean your money goes a lot further. Adrian Leeds Group, LLC and Moneycorp are working together to ensure you make the most of your Dollar or Sterling when buying a property in France or anytime you transfer from one currency to another.

Bonjour French Property Insider Subscriber,

The Notaires de France issued a report early this month regarding the real estate market for the first half of the year, pleased to show formidable increases over a weak period during 2009. Prices have increased 2.2% second quarter over first quarter 2010 on resale apartments and 2.3% on resale homes. Over the period of one year, July 2009 through June 2010, prices increased 6.3% on resale apartments and 5.7% on resale homes.

Certain areas of the country have shown serious growth in apartment prices as in the alpes de Haute-Provence with 22% appreciation, les Vosges with 14.5% and Paris with 9.8%. Homes have seen the most two-digit appreciation in such areas as the Gironde, the Drôme, the Loire Atlantique, the Marne and the Seine Maritime.

As of October 2010, the volume of sales for 2010 has already exceeded sales recorded in 2009 with as estimated volume of between 720,000 and 750,000. The volume of sales between 2000 and 2007 averaged between 800 and 840,000 and therefore the trend tells us to expect sales to come closer to normal, perhaps by the end of 2010. As long as interest rates remain low, more buyers will come onto the market.

In comparison to other countries, France is showing more favorable growth than either the U.K. or the U.S.

Certain areas of the country are showing the most growth. See the following chart and focus on the darkest departments that illustration +0 growth.

The 2010 Mayors and Local Authorities Fair

Le Salon des Maires et des Collectivités Locales (SMCL) will take place November 23, 24, 25 in Paris at the Porte de Versailles and is the only national annual event that brings together all major public stakeholders with all of their partners in the institutional or specialized management services, management and development of local authorities.

The show provides decision makers of public procurement (mayors, deputies, advisers, directors of services, directors of technical services, local civil servants, etc.) answers and practical solutions to problems encountered in daily exercise of their missions. The SMCL is held in conjunction with the 93rd Annual Meeting of the Association of Mayors of France (AMF) with the theme "Tomorrow, what role and what means for municipalities and intermunicipalities?" Expected are 850 exhibitors, 9 themed zones and 150 sectors of economic activity.
