Writing from the Heart...
a journey into the heart of France, and into your own heart...

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION AUGUST 15

Find the time, the courage, and the inspiration to write about what's most important TO YOU!

October 11-17, 2011
Essoyes, Champagne

"Go. Write. Feel safe. Be brave. Take the risk! Janet is there to catch you. And she is there to set you free." Writing from the Heart participant

This writing workshop/retreat in a lovely little village in the heart of Champagne, just two and a half hours away from Paris, offers seasoned writers as well as novices the chance to explore new creative territory and work on their writing in a supportive small group environment. Class meets in the mornings, and afternoons are free for independent writing, touring the area, or simply resting and recharging. Participants stay in a delightful three-star family-run hotel with a friendly staff, an excellent restaurant, and magnificent views of the village and surrounding vineyards.

Instructor, Janet Hulstrand, is a writer, editor, and teacher of writing and of literature whose essays have been published in Bonjour Paris, the Christian Science Monitor, and Smithsonian. Her first book, Moving On: A Practical Guide to Downsizing the Family Home, was published by Stewart, Tabori & Chang. She writes for Writing from the Heart, Reading for the Road and Downsizing the Home: Lessons Learned, and is working on her next book, A Long Way from Iowa, a literary memoir. Her relationship with the village and people of Essoyes (ESS-wah) goes back to 1978, when she and her future husband met and fell in love while picking grapes for the vendange.

Cost: 1250 Euros (payable in dollars at current rate of exchange)
Applications now being accepted. Enrollment limited to 10.

For more information, visit www.essoyesschool.com or contact Janet Hulstrand at janet.hulstrand@gmail.com
